“I want to eat your pancreas” that’s what Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai means, I don’t know about this but is misleading title is popular in Japan nowadays? It was Seishun Buta Yarou last season and now this. That aside, Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai really remind me of Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, because Sakura is very similar to Kaori in many aspects. Miyazono Kaori from Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso is my most favorite heroine, and seeing someone who has similar characteristic with Kaori really make me happy. This kind of character is an ideal of girl from my perspective.
Priceless smile, isn’t it?
Not only the main heroine, Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai’s plot is very similar with Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, so prepare yourself for another tear-jerker moments. The difference between this movie and Shigatsu is probbably the closeness of the main character with heroine. You will get to see more beautiful and love moments from the couple here. Shigatsu’s romantic moments is like an art and poem, but with Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai, you will get generic romantic moments instead, like a date and something like that. To be honest, Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai affects me more than I expect, and also more than Shigatsu. Well, maybe that’s because I got to see the ending directly rather than to wait it every week.
If I have to explain it with one sentence, it’s like “When you’re dreaming your most beautiful dream, then suddenly a yakuza punch you till dead to wake you up” and this movie is probably the most impactful movie for me, more than the popular movie in recent years, like Koe no Katachi and Kimi no Nawa.
Better to watch it if you have off-days, but if you lack emotion-sensitivity (immune to tear-jerker story), then you can decide whenever you want. As always, thanks for reading.
